UGA Opens New Track & Field Complex with Ceremony and Ribbon-Cutting

UGA officially opens its new Track and Field Complex

A new era for athletics has dawned at the University of Georgia as they unveil their expansive track and field complex. This significant milestone was marked by a dedication ceremony and a symbolic ribbon-cutting at the entrance of the facility.

Spanning 37 acres, the complex includes over 34,000 square feet of dedicated facilities, centered around the Spec Towns Track. UGA President Jere W. Morehead emphasized the importance of the project by stating, “Our world-class athletes deserve nothing less than world-class facilities, and, as I am sure our coaches and student-athletes can attest, the new track and field complex certainly lives up to this lofty standard.”

This spring, the complex will play host to two prominent events. The Spec Towns Invitational is set for April 9th to 11th, followed by the Torrin Lawrence Memorial on May 2nd.
