UGA to kick off Spotlight on the Arts celebration with poetry festival

In an exciting celebration of the arts, the University of Georgia is launching a month-long festival with a special focus on poetry. The event promises to bring together renowned poets and enthusiastic audiences for a series of enriching literary experiences.

The annual Spotlight on the Arts at UGA will take place throughout November, highlighting diverse expressions of literary, visual, and performing arts. The festivities begin with a keynote event scheduled for next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Esteemed poets Edward Hirsch, recognized as a MacArthur Fellow, and Robin Coste Lewis, a National Book Award laureate, will grace the UGA Chapel with readings and engage in discussions with attendees.

A subsequent gathering will occur on November 5 at the Georgia Museum of Art, featuring poets Michael Collier, Vievee Francis, and Garrett Hongo. This event, starting at 5:30 p.m., will include readings, a question-and-answer session, and book signings.
