Trump and Kemp Endorsements Shape Crucial Georgia Runoff Elections

Trump, Kemp endorse candidates for GOP primary runoffs

As the June 16 runoff elections approach, a flurry of endorsements have surfaced, influencing the political landscape. High-profile political figures have expressed their support, adding momentum to the campaigns.

On social media Sunday, President Donald Trump threw his support behind U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, who is contending for a position in the U.S. Senate. Collins is up against Derek Dooley, a former football coach who has long enjoyed the backing of Governor Brian Kemp. The victor of this face-off will challenge the Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff in the upcoming November elections.

In a Sunday YouTube video, Governor Kemp declared his endorsement for Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones in the race for Georgia governor. Previously, Jones also received an endorsement from Trump. In the GOP primary runoff, Jones competes against Rick Jackson, with the winner set to contest Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms.

With early voting concluded, the opportunity for voters to participate in the runoffs remains open, with ballots being cast on June 16.
