Experienced Leader Tony Adair Takes Helm at Athens-Clarke County Animal Services
Tony Adair is set to step into the role of Director at Athens-Clarke County Animal Services Department, bringing with him a wealth of experience that spans over 25 years in animal control and shelter management.
Bob Cowell, Athens-Clarke County Manager, announced Adair’s appointment, highlighting his extensive background in leading animal services. Adair’s career includes directing animal services in both North Carolina and Florida, as well as heading operations at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, known as one of the largest nonprofit animal welfare entities across the nation.
Beyond his directorial roles, Adair has contributed his expertise through private consulting, focusing on animal cruelty investigations and management for over 14 years. His professional qualifications are underscored by a Shelter Management Certification from the University of the Pacific.
Adair will officially commence his duties as the Director of the Animal Services Department on June 15.
