Athens-Clarke County Gear Up for Upcoming Runoff Elections
With the June 16 runoff elections approaching, the Athens-Clarke County Elections Department is making final preparations. Voters eager to participate have a deadline of June 5 to request their absentee ballots, available online or at the local Elections Office.
The upcoming runoff will be pivotal, especially as every voter in the county can cast their vote for the Athens-Clarke County mayoral race. Additionally, there are critical runoffs for ACC Commission Districts 5 and 9. To assist voters in navigating the election differences, especially between Democratic and Republican ballots, detailed composite sample ballots are available on the Athens-Clarke County Elections Department website.
Early voting is scheduled to occur from June 8 to June 12, offering convenience at the Elections Office, library, and tennis center. On Election Day, June 16, all polling locations will welcome voters from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Importantly, all registered voters are encouraged to participate in the runoff, irrespective of their participation in the May 19 general primary and nonpartisan election.
