New App Launched to Combat Human Trafficking in Georgia
As part of ongoing efforts to tackle human trafficking in Georgia, a new mobile application called See Something, Send Something has been introduced. The app, launched by First Lady Marty Kemp in collaboration with Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Director Chris Hosey, provides a platform for users to report suspicious activities anonymously.
Highlighting the app’s functionality, First Lady Marty Kemp stated, “Click on the human trafficking tab and you can report any suspicious activity you see in Georgia.” This initiative aims to streamline the reporting process and ensure immediate communication with law enforcement.
Director Chris Hosey emphasized the app’s accessibility, noting, “The information you submit will be sent directly to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. You can report concerns right from your phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.” This round-the-clock availability underscores the state’s commitment to addressing human trafficking.
In addition to the app, anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477) or through the online platform at https://gbi.georgia.gov/submit-tips-online.
Georgia’s strategic location, characterized by a major international airport and a comprehensive highway network, has made it a focal point for human trafficking activities. The introduction of this app is part of broader efforts to combat this pressing issue.
