Georgia Initiates Drought Awareness Campaign Amidst Water Concerns
In a move to address growing concerns over drought conditions, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division has activated a Level One Drought Response as of April 27th. This declaration affects public water systems that source their water from both surface and groundwater.
The initiative requires these water systems to inform the public about the current drought situation and the importance of conserving water. To accomplish this, a series of information campaigns will be launched. These campaigns will utilize various platforms, including social media, newspapers, and online advertisements, to effectively communicate the message.
It’s important to note that the Level One Drought Response does not impose any additional water usage restrictions at this time.
