Community Development Initiatives Spotlighted with Free Tours
This week, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government Housing and Community Development Department is shining a light on its affordable housing and community development efforts through a series of free public tours. The initiative is part of the National Community Development Week celebrations.
These tours serve to highlight the significant contributions of the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership programs. These federal programs are instrumental in providing financial assistance to state and local governments for a variety of projects that support low- and moderate-income households, focusing on housing, community, and infrastructure development.
Organized in partnership with the Historic Athens Welcome Center, the tours will be available to the public at no cost. They are scheduled for Tuesday, April 7th, and Friday, April 10th, with sessions running from 10 a.m. to noon. Interested individuals are required to register in advance.
