Athenian Road Accident Claims Life of 30-Year-Old
In a tragic series of events early on September 21, 2026, Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to an accident on Old Hull Road. Initial investigations suggest that Brayan Castro-Delgado was traveling eastward when his vehicle veered off the road into a ditch.
Despite surviving the crash, Delgado, a resident of Athens, exited his Nissan Frontier and subsequently entered the road on foot. Unfortunately, he was then hit by a westbound GMC Sierra and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the age of 30, Delgado’s death marks the tenth traffic fatality in Athens for 2026. This number matches the total fatal crashes recorded in 2025 within Athens-Clarke County.
