The Lively Celebration of Athens’ African-American Legacy
Mark your calendars for a vibrant celebration in Athens as the city hosts the 26th annual Hot Corner Festival. Kicking off at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11th at Ciné, this festival honors the dynamic legacy of the local African-American business community.
Scheduled from June 11th to 13th, the festival commemorates the flourishing Black business scene of early 20th-century Athens. It also serves as a platform for contemporary Black-owned businesses and aspiring young entrepreneurs, offering them the opportunity to showcase their ventures as vendors.
The event culminates on Saturday, June 13th, with a full day of activities from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Held at the intersection of Hull and Washington Street, attendees can enjoy live performances, explore various vendor offerings, and savor delicious food. This final celebration is open to the public, inviting everyone to join in the festivities.
