Experience the Joy of Doggy Daycare: Short-Term Fostering with Couch Crashers
As the summer sun shines brightly, the Athens-Clarke County Animal Services Department is inviting community members to participate in a unique opportunity to foster shelter dogs. The Couch Crashers program, set to occur from June 26-29 and July 3-6, offers a temporary respite for dogs in need, right from the comfort of your home.
This initiative, designed to occur over select holiday weekends throughout the year, aims to provide shelter dogs with a temporary home environment. By allowing these animals a break from the shelter, the program helps in alleviating stress and promoting better behavior, which can significantly enhance their chances of finding a permanent home.
Prospective foster families or individuals are required to undergo a brief screening and onboarding process to ensure a good match. Participants in the program will be supplied with all the essentials, such as food, bowls, bedding, and leashes, making the experience seamless and rewarding.
