Wild Women NEPA Festival: A Day of Wellness and Community for Women

Wild Women NEPA Festival returns to Tunkhannock on Saturday

Lazybrook Park is set to come alive this Saturday as the Wild Women NEPA Festival returns for its fourth year, promising a day of empowerment, connection, and celebration of women.

Touted as Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor event dedicated solely to women, the festival will transform the park in Tunkhannock into a vibrant hub of outdoor activities, live performances, and a bustling Vendor Village featuring over 70 women-led businesses and artisans.

Melissa Roberts, the festival’s co-founder, highlighted the event’s community-centric ethos: “It’s a wonderful way for women to connect with their community, with each other, and with themselves in nature.”

The festival’s inception was deeply personal for Roberts, who sought to create a supportive space for women, drawing from her own experiences as a business owner and mother. This annual gathering has since evolved into a vital network of support and resources for women in the region.

Roberts emphasized the holistic approach of the festival, stating, “I like to say that self-care is more than just a bubble bath. It’s really finding and connecting with the support and resources that we have right here in our community, and that’s what the event is all about.”

Focusing on wellness in its many forms, the festival offers activities that cater to physical, mental, and spiritual health, allowing participants to engage in what resonates with them.

In tribute to her late mother, Roberts continues to host the event in the picturesque Lazybrook Park, a location cherished by her mother. “She passed away in 2018, and Lazybrook Park was her most favorite place in all of Northeast PA,” Roberts shared. “It’s something that I do every year in her honor.”
