North Oconee High evacuated over bomb threat, all-clear issued

North Oconee High School evacuated after bomb threat

Evacuation at North Oconee High School Amid Bomb Threat Investigation

In a swift response to an anonymous bomb threat, North Oconee High School was evacuated on Friday as authorities conducted a thorough investigation. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office carried out a detailed search of the premises and ultimately confirmed there was no active threat.

Following the evacuation, students and staff were initially moved to Titan Stadium. Shortly thereafter, they were relocated to a secure indoor location that law enforcement had cleared. This decision stemmed from a precautionary measure after the threat was received via email earlier in the day.

By 12:55 pm, the Sheriff’s Office gave the all-clear, allowing parents to safely pick up their children. In a related precautionary move, Rocky Branch Elementary School, situated nearby, was placed under lockdown.
