Investigation Underway in Suspected Attempted Murder-Suicide in Nebraska

Authorities in Nebraska are delving into a distressing case that appears to involve an attempted murder-suicide, where a woman is believed to have taken her own life after attempting to kill three children. This incident has prompted a thorough investigation by the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol.

On Saturday afternoon, deputies responded to a call at a rural residence in Kearney County. Upon arrival, they discovered the woman deceased from what seemed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Nearby, three children were found suffering from gunshot injuries. The relationship between the woman and the children has not been confirmed, and authorities have withheld the identities of all involved.

The young victims, all under 12 years old, were initially rushed to CHI Health Good Samaritan hospital in Kearney. Subsequently, two of the children required further medical treatment and were transferred to Children’s Nebraska hospital in Omaha. Fortunately, medical officials report that all three children are expected to survive their injuries.

The investigation by the sheriff’s office and the State Patrol remains active as they seek to uncover further details surrounding this tragic event.
