As spring brings a burst of color to many gardens, the W.E. Upjohn Peony Garden at the University of Michigan stands out with its remarkable floral display.
This year’s bloom is particularly breathtaking, with an abundance of flowers captivating visitors.
Insights from the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum reveal that the lead horticulturist attributes this year’s “super bloom” to the cool weather experienced in April, which encouraged thousands of peonies to bloom.
An update from June 5 highlights that while most of the garden is currently in bloom, early bloomers are starting to shed petals, and some late bloomers have yet to reveal their beauty.
