Annual Health Fair Returns to UGA: Pharmtoberfest
On Tuesday, the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy will once again open its doors for the 23rd annual Pharmtoberfest, a prominent health fair that has become a staple for the community. This event promises to provide an array of health services and information to attendees.
Set on the D.W. Brooks Lawn, just outside the pharmacy building, Pharmtoberfest is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair invites everyone to take advantage of the health screenings and flu vaccinations offered, along with educational health booths that aim to raise awareness on various health topics.
Participants planning to receive a flu shot should remember to bring their health insurance cards. For UGA staff and students, the flu vaccination will be offered at no additional cost, ensuring accessibility for the university community.
In a nod to the significance of the profession, Mayor Kelly Girtz will make an appearance to read a proclamation celebrating American Pharmacists Month. This highlight underscores the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare.
The event is organized by UGA’s chapter of the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists, affirming their commitment to enhancing public health and wellness.
