UGA Aims to Increase Flu Vaccinations with Ambitious Campaign
The University of Georgia is once again mobilizing its community with the annual #flUGA flu vaccination initiative. This year, the campaign aspires to administer 10,000 flu vaccinations among students, faculty, and staff during the fall season.
Coinciding with #BeWellUGA Week, this year’s effort will feature numerous vaccination events spread across the campus throughout September and October. As of late August, a total of 18 events were confirmed, with additional events anticipated.
Students are eligible for complimentary flu shots, which will be available from Monday to Thursday between 1-3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. The vaccinations will be accessible at various sites, including outreach clinics, dining halls, and a mobile flu cart that will circulate around the campus. The Miller Learning Center, Tate Student Center, and the newly established Dining, Learning, and Well-being Center are also designated locations.
The mobile flu cart is strategically planned to align with class schedules, offering students convenient access to vaccinations before or after their classes.
Last year, UGA successfully provided 9,523 flu vaccinations. This season, the campaign’s goal is to surpass that number by reaching the 10,000 mark.
