A comprehensive orientation for new faculty members joining the University of Michigan is set to occur soon, offering crucial insights and resources to help them transition into their roles effectively. Scheduled for August 26, this event will unfold on the second floor of the Michigan League from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The orientation is backed by the Office of the Provost and the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, aiming to equip new faculty with the necessary tools for a successful first year. President Domenico Grasso and Provost Laurie McCauley will kick off the event with welcoming remarks.

A luncheon featuring a panel of key speakers will be part of the day’s agenda. This includes Provost Laurie McCauley, Patricia Hurn, interim vice president for research and innovation, and Kentaro Toyama, professor of information and chair of the Faculty Senate.
To wrap up the orientation, an Information Fair will provide faculty members an opportunity to connect with representatives from important university offices.
