Protesters Rally in Athens Against ICE Policies

In a show of solidarity, hundreds gathered at College Square in downtown Athens for the “ICE Out for Good” protest. This local event, orchestrated by IndivisibleGA 10, formed part of a larger series of demonstrations nationwide, all opposing the practices of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) over the weekend.

Among the speakers was Caleb Lux, who leads the Young Democrats at the University of Georgia. He passionately conveyed the sentiments of his peers, stating, “But one thing you should about our generation and our student body, is that we have a very short temper for injustice,” Lux said.

The event, lasting approximately 90 minutes, maintained a peaceful atmosphere throughout.
