Exciting Exhibition Game Set Between Nebraska and Kansas State in Grand Island
This fall, basketball fans in Nebraska can look forward to an engaging exhibition game as the Nebraska men’s basketball team squares off against Kansas State. The matchup is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 26, at the BigIron Events Center, located in Grand Island.
In a recent announcement from Husker Athletics, it was revealed that details regarding ticket sales, tipoff timing, and broadcast information will become available later this summer.
“We have a lot of fans in central Nebraska and are excited to bring the Huskers to Grand Island,” Nebraska Coach Fred Hoiberg mentioned in the press release. He further expressed gratitude towards Kansas State’s Head Coach Casey Alexander for facilitating the game, highlighting previous thrilling encounters, including last year’s Hall of Fame Classic. “It should be a tremendous environment,” Hoiberg added.
The Huskers are coming off a landmark season and will see the return of key players such as Pryce Sandfort, Braden Frager, and Connor Essegian. Essegian had to sit out most of the previous season due to an ankle injury.
This Grand Island event marks Nebraska’s third exhibition game this year. Prior to this, the Huskers are set to host Saint Louis on Friday, October 9, and will travel to face BYU on Friday, October 16. According to regulations for the 2026-27 season, schools are permitted to engage in up to three exhibition games, providing teams ample opportunity to prepare and engage with fans statewide.
Further details about the remaining non-conference games are expected to be released later this week.
