Clarke County Seeks New School Superintendent with Community Input
The Clarke County School District (CCSD) has launched its search for a new superintendent, working in collaboration with the Georgia School Board Association. The process involves keeping the community informed and engaged through regular updates.
March marks a pivotal month for the Board of Education as they evaluate 32 applicants vying for the superintendent role in the Clarke County School District. The selection process will advance to in-person interviews, guided by insights from a community-wide survey.
Between January 13th and February 2nd, CCSD opened a survey to all community stakeholders, receiving 273 responses. Participants included parents, guardians, local residents, teachers, and school staff.
The survey results highlight the community’s preference for a superintendent who embodies qualities such as ethical leadership, visibility, instructional strength, and a strong connection to Athens. The district plans to publicly announce the finalists for the superintendent position in May.
