Clarke County Board of Education to Confirm New Superintendent
The Clarke County Board of Education is set to convene on Monday evening, June 1, at 5:30 PM for a special meeting at the District Office on Prince Avenue. The agenda includes a pivotal vote on the appointment of Dr. Jennifer Scott as the new Superintendent of the Clarke County School District.
Dr. Scott, who has been with the district since 1998, has been serving as the interim superintendent since July 2025 following the retirement of Dr. Robbie Hooker. Her extensive experience within the district includes roles as a classroom teacher, principal, and deputy superintendent, showcasing her long-standing commitment to education in Clarke County.
The selection process for the new superintendent was conducted in partnership with the Georgia School Boards Association. This national search attracted 32 applicants, culminating in interviews with finalists on May 1 and 2. Dr. Scott emerged as the sole finalist during the board’s meeting in May.
