Chris Parker to be Sworn In as Interim Forsyth County Commissioner

Chris Parker to be sworn in as interim Forsyth commissioner

New Interim Commissioner to Join Forsyth County Board

A new chapter begins for the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners as they prepare to welcome an interim member. The recent vacancy left by Don Martin, who retired at the end of July, will be filled by Chris Parker.

Chosen by the Forsyth County Republican Party, Chris Parker is set to occupy the position temporarily. Parker, who is currently the chair of the local utilities commission, also holds a place on the board of trustees for Forsyth Technical Community College. His political aspirations extend beyond this interim role, as he is campaigning for a permanent seat as a Forsyth County Commissioner in District B.

Parker’s interim term will extend until the newly elected officials assume their roles post the November elections. The swearing-in ceremony for Parker is scheduled for Monday afternoon and will coincide with the election of a new chair and vice chair for the commission.

The swearing-in and subsequent meeting will take place at the Forsyth County Government Center at 2 p.m. This event marks a significant transition period for the county’s leadership.
