Asheville’s City Council Race Draws a Crowded Field
As the primary election approaches on March 3, Asheville residents face a crucial decision with a crowded field of candidates vying for three City Council seats. The election has attracted 20 contenders, making it a significant event for local politics.
Each candidate has been actively engaging with the community, emphasizing three primary concerns they aim to address: the housing crisis, affordability issues, and the ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene. These topics have dominated the discourse as the contenders present their visions for the city’s future.
In an effort to provide voters with insights into the candidates’ platforms, BPR conducted a survey, inviting all 20 candidates to share their positions on key issues. Nine candidates responded to the survey, offering their perspectives and solutions.
