NCcareers.org Hits 1M Users, Offers Enhanced Career Planning Tools

North Carolina’s August Employment Figures Released

North Carolina’s career development platform, NCcareers.org, has reached a significant milestone by serving one million residents, marking a 95% increase in usage over the past year. The platform, which is a free resource for career exploration and planning, generated 6.6 million pageviews and attracted 970,000 users in 2025. NCcareers.org has become a central hub for students, job seekers, educators, and workforce professionals across the state, providing data-driven career guidance. This surge in popularity follows the launch of tools to aid students in completing Career Development Plans (CDP), meeting legislative requirements for 8th and 10th-grade students.

In collaboration with the College Foundation of North Carolina, students can continue accessing and updating their CDPs beyond high school. The platform’s data indicates a strong interest in healthcare and financial careers, with Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and Financial Managers being the most-viewed occupations. NCcareers.org offers no-cost solutions for school districts, enabling educators to guide students in career exploration. As NCcareers.org moves into 2026, new features such as an AI Mock Interview Tool, a Business Directory, and an Enhanced Career Path Builder are under development.

Launched in 2020 and managed by the NC Department of Commerce’s Labor and Economic Analysis Division, NCcareers.org partners with 12 education and workforce agencies. The platform provides comprehensive career planning tools for a wide range of users, including middle and high school students, adult job seekers, and career changers. Key features include Career Assessments, Career Development Plans, Labor Market Information, Career Pathways, and STAR Jobs, alongside over 60 lesson plans for educators.
