Ben Page has been appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Development and Chief Operating Officer at the Economic Development Administration (EDA), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The announcement was made by officials in Washington, DC, effective from April 22, 2024.
Page was praised by Alejandra Y. Castillo, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development, who stated that his expertise in operational management, budgeting, and project coordination will contribute to the EDA’s growth. This growth is expected as the bureau continues to shape a modern, dynamic organization that excels in its ever-expanding roster of historic investments.
Prior to his appointment, Page served as a Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce for the implementation of the Department’s infrastructure and large-scale programs. In this capacity, he led efforts to ensure successful implementation of high-priority initiatives and served as the Department’s liaison to the White House Infrastructure Implementation Taskforce.
Page’s previous roles include over a decade as the Chief Financial Officer of the U.S. Census Bureau and a Branch Chief at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), where he advised three OMB directors. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee and a master’s in public policy from George Washington University.
