Thriving North Carolina Communities are the Focus of the Largest Statewide Downtown Revitalization Conference in the U.S.

In a move set to bolster the local economy, BuildOps, Inc. announced plans to create 291 new jobs in Raleigh, North Carolina. With an investment of $771,200, BuildOps will establish an operations hub in Wake County. Governor Josh Stein highlighted the state’s robust educational and workforce programs as key factors in attracting the company. The expansion marks BuildOps’ third operations hub, complementing existing locations in Los Angeles and Toronto.

BuildOps, founded in 2018 and headquartered in Los Angeles, specializes in software tailored for commercial trade contractors. Their platform provides solutions for project management, service, dispatching, and invoicing, serving a clientele that includes HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical contractors. The company’s CEO, Alok Chanani, expressed enthusiasm for joining Raleigh’s innovative business climate, emphasizing the strategic importance of the expansion in revolutionizing the commercial trade industry.

The initiative is supported by a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG), projected to contribute over $701.7 million to North Carolina’s economy over 12 years. The JDIG agreement permits a potential reimbursement of up to $1,839,000 to BuildOps, contingent upon job creation targets being met. The project’s return on investment is estimated at 78 percent, ensuring positive net tax revenue for the state.

In addition to the economic benefits for Wake County, the JDIG agreement will allocate $613,000 to the state’s Industrial Development Fund – Utility Account. This fund aids rural communities in upgrading infrastructure, enabling them to attract future business opportunities. The expansion has garnered support from local and state officials who recognize the potential for growth and job creation within the region.
