Residents Encouraged to Shape Future Infrastructure in Athens-Clarke County
Community members in Athens-Clarke County are being called upon to voice their opinions on upcoming infrastructure enhancements. This initiative is part of the efforts by the local Transportation and Public Works Department to update the existing strategic framework for non-vehicular pathways.
The Athens Clarke-County Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) has reached out to residents, seeking feedback on proposed developments for bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. The community’s input will play a crucial role in the revision of the Athens in Motion (AIM) Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, first introduced in 2018.
The AIM plan outlines a series of initiatives aimed at creating a more comprehensive bike and pedestrian network within Athens-Clarke County. Comprised of dedicated volunteer community members, the AIM commission collaborates with county transportation staff to advance these initiatives.
The updated plan will address evolving community needs, as stated on the ACC’s official website. The department emphasizes the importance of community involvement in redefining the 2018 plan to better serve current and future demands.
Interested residents can participate by completing the online survey available on the ACC website. The survey will remain open until Sunday, December 7th. To contribute, visit www.accgov.com/athensinmotion.
