Luzerne County Community College Faculty Poised for Strike Over Contract Dispute
Educators at Luzerne County Community College are preparing to halt their work next week due to unresolved contractual negotiations. The faculty union has announced plans to initiate a strike on November 5, unless agreements are reached on a new contract.
On Monday, the college’s Association of Higher Education, affiliated with the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA), officially notified the college administration of its intent to strike. This action follows the expiration of the faculty’s previous contract on August 31, affecting 113 staff members represented by the union.
Despite attempts to gather a response from the college’s administration regarding the impending strike, no comments were available as of Monday night.
Stay tuned for further developments.
