Community Advocate Leads Bilingual Ballots Initiative in Athens-Clarke County
In Athens-Clarke County, significant developments like the introduction of bilingual ballots have been propelled by the efforts of a dedicated community advocate.
This summer, Brittany Lopez, a recent graduate of Cedar Shoals High School, was recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Notably, she is the sole recipient of this honor from Clarke County.
Lopez also serves as the Food Access Coordinator at the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. In an interview with WUGA’s Emma Auer, she shared insights into her motivations and offered guidance to young individuals in Athens.
