Community Outcry for Clean Water Access in Pinewoods Estates
Residents of Pinewoods Estates are facing a critical issue: access to clean water. During a recent commission meeting, concerned citizens from Athens-Clarke County highlighted the dire situation, emphasizing that some residents experience days without reliable water supply.
Lizette Guevara, an advocate from the Family Connection-Communities in Schools, spearheaded the call for immediate action. As the Neighborhood Leader of the J.J. Harris Zone, where numerous children from Pinewoods reside, she addressed the commission on Tuesday evening.
Guevara also shared insights with WUGA’s Lara Dua-Swartz, delving into the challenges faced by the northern Athens community.
