Dr. Patricia Yager Steps into New Role as CCSD Board Vice President
The Clarke County School District (CCSD) board has filled its long-vacant vice presidential seat. In a decisive move during Thursday’s meeting, board members elected Dr. Patricia Yager, marking a new chapter of leadership for the district.
Dr. Yager, who has been an integral part of the board since 2019, takes over from Mark Evans, the previous vice president who has now assumed the role of board president. The vice presidency had been unoccupied since June, creating a need for strong leadership in the interim.
With a robust history of service, Dr. Yager was initially appointed to represent District 4 and has successfully been re-elected for a second full term. Her connection with the district runs deep, having been a part of the Cedar Shoals High School local school governance team (LSGT) before her current commitments.
Beyond her educational governance roles, Dr. Yager is a professor at the University of Georgia, reinforcing her dedication to academia and community service.
