Angélique Kidjo, a celebrated figure in African music, has etched her name in history by becoming the first African artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her presence in Athens is eagerly awaited as she prepares to perform at the University of Georgia Performing Arts Center and engage in a live dialogue with “African Perspectives” host, Dr. Akinloye Ojo. The anticipation builds around these events, marking a significant moment for local fans.
On September 9th at 7 p.m., Kidjo will have a live interview with Dr. Ojo at the 40 Watt Club, where seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Following this, she will showcase her musical talents on September 10th at 7:30 p.m. at the UGA Performing Arts Center.
Those unable to attend these events can look forward to catching her interview and performance, which will be broadcasted in October on the show African Perspectives, airing Sundays at 4 p.m. on WUGA.
