Mobile Dental Clinic Brings Oral Care to Schoolchildren

Imagine getting your teeth cleaned without ever leaving school. This is now a reality for students in the Clarke County School District (CCSD), thanks to a new initiative that brings dental care directly to them.

The Athens Neighborhood Health Center (ANHC) has teamed up with CCSD to launch a mobile dental bus, which provides essential dental services to students. The bus made its debut at J.J. Harris Elementary School on September 2nd and will continue to visit the location twice a week throughout the month.

This mobile clinic is equipped to offer a variety of dental services, including cleanings, X-rays, fillings, sealants, and other preventive care measures. While the current schedule focuses on J.J. Harris Elementary, CCSD plans to announce future visits to other district schools soon.
