Prominent Appointment at University of Georgia: Henry N. Young Steps into Vice Provost Role

The University of Georgia has announced a significant leadership change, appointing Henry N. Young as the new vice provost within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.

Henry N. Young, who currently holds the position of Kroger Professor and leads the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy in UGA’s College of Pharmacy, is set to assume his new responsibilities on August 1. In his role as vice provost, Young will manage the Office of Academic and Community Engagement, spearhead initiatives for faculty and staff development, and enhance programs aimed at bolstering community involvement.

Young’s responsibilities will also extend to contributing to the university’s health and medicine initiatives. He will oversee several key campus programs, such as UGA’s signature lecture series and the Study in a Second Discipline initiative, which are integral to the academic and cultural fabric of the university.

Having been appointed as the head of the clinical and administrative pharmacy department in 2021, Young’s research expertise centers on health communication, the use of medications, and patient outcomes. Prior to his tenure at UGA, he was a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy.
