Public Input Sought for Enhancements in Southeast Clarke Park Trails
The Athens-Clarke County government is calling on the community to contribute their thoughts on potential enhancements to the trail systems at Southeast Clarke Park. Residents have until July 10 to participate in a public survey that will gather input on these proposed improvements.
Access to the survey is provided through accgov.com/setrails. This initiative is a part of the county’s strategic plan to potentially utilize funding from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Recreational Trails Program. To secure this grant, the county would need to provide matching funds from the SPLOST 2020 Park Improvements Project.
According to county officials, the feedback collected will be instrumental in shaping the future design and development of the park’s trail network. The survey invites residents to express their views on the current project proposal and to share what they see as priorities for future trail developments.
The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department is encouraging everyone who frequents Southeast Clarke Park or has an interest in its future to voice their opinions. The online survey will be open until Friday, July 10. For further details, the Leisure Services Department can be reached at 706-613-3801.
