After graduating from West Iron County High School in 1972, Diane pursued an associate’s degree in business from Northern Michigan University, graduating in 1974. It was here that she met her future husband, Dante, while they were both buying books. The couple’s journey took them to several locations due to Dante’s career as a commissioned officer in the Marines, including Quantico, Virginia; Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, where their son Dante Kenneth was born; and Pensacola, Florida.

Diane’s professional life flourished in Ann Arbor, where she worked at the University of Michigan, eventually becoming the human resources director of operations. Her personal life was equally rich, as she maintained deep friendships with a group of women, including her sister Lynette and friends Lynda Clewell, Sue Ressler, and Sue Bright.

As a mother, Diane was exceptional, attending every event for her children and later for her granddaughter, Annoura. Her presence was a constant at Annoura’s equestrian events, and her love for family was evident in every aspect of her life.

Diane had a variety of interests, from knitting and supporting the Green Bay Packers to her fondness for owls, elephants, and books. She cherished winters in Arizona with her husband and sister, enjoyed garlic bread and dark chocolate, and loved family gatherings. Her Christmas traditions included watching Harry Potter movies and making her famous French toast.

Known for her energetic and kind nature, Diane’s favorite saying was, “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.” Her absence leaves a void in the lives of many.

Survived by her sister Lynette, husband Dante, children Sarah (Neil) and Dante, granddaughter Annoura, and cousins/sisters Sally and Sue, Diane also leaves behind a loving extended family, including many nieces and nephews. Special gratitude is extended to her nephew Toby for facilitating her homecoming, which meant so much to her.

A graveside service will take place on May 23 at 11 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery in Beechwood, Iron River Township, to honor her life and legacy.
