In a recent gathering hosted by KUNR and Sierra Nevada Forums, Nevada Deputy Secretary of State for Elections, Mark Wlashchin, emphasized the importance of submitting mail ballots early. He advised voters to send their completed ballots at least a week before Election Day to ensure timely delivery.
Wlashchin expressed his concerns, stating, “You wait ‘til the last minute, and it risks not getting back in time, and then you didn’t vote, like that’s abhorrent to me.” He added that postal workers are doing their best despite institutional challenges, which are not their fault.
According to a report by KUNR, changes in USPS operations aimed at improving efficiency may lead to delays in postmarking mail. This is crucial as ballots must be postmarked by Election Day. Alternatively, voters have the option to use drop boxes located within their county to submit their ballots.
