Greensboro’s New Initiative Offers Growth Opportunities for Small Businesses
In a bid to bolster small businesses, Greensboro has introduced a certification program aimed at enhancing contracting opportunities for enterprises in several Triad counties. This initiative could be a game-changer for local businesses seeking expansion and increased market reach.
The Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program, initiated by Greensboro, serves as a vital certification mechanism to help businesses in Guilford, Rockingham, and Randolph counties. Interested businesses can register to join the Certified Vendor Directory, managed by the city.
This directory aims to create pathways for small businesses to engage with trade-specific opportunities, ensuring they receive timely notifications about bids and outreach events.
Michael Humphrey, who leads the Greensboro Office of Business Opportunity, emphasized that the SBE Program is designed to eliminate growth barriers for small enterprises. “The program removes barriers for small businesses looking to grow,” he stated.
A kickoff event for the SBE Program is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, at the Yvonne J. Johnson Event Center, offering a platform for businesses to learn more about the benefits and opportunities available.
