St. Mary’s Health Care Expands with $35M Heart and Cancer Facility

St. Mary’s is expanding

Exciting developments are underway at St. Mary’s Health Care System with a significant $35 million expansion project focused on enhancing heart health and cancer treatment. The new facility, slated for the Baxter Street campus, promises to bring cutting-edge medical advancements to the forefront.

At the heart of this expansion is the Center for Heart Vascular and Neurosciences (CHVN), a 15,000-square-foot facility designed to house state-of-the-art medical technology previously unavailable in the region. Among the key innovations, the CHVN will introduce the area’s first 4D CT scanner, accessible to specialists around the clock. Additionally, it will bolster rapid response services for stroke patients.

According to St. Mary’s Chief of Cardiology, this initiative will significantly enhance the institution’s capacity to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases, effectively doubling its current capabilities.

The official groundbreaking ceremony for this project is anticipated to take place in mid-June.
