Athens Restaurants Partner with CCSD to Support Gifted Savings Program

Restaurants across Athens to support CCSD financial education program

Local Restaurants Unite to Support Clarke County School District’s Gifted Savings Initiative

The Clarke County School District (CCSD) has teamed up with Athens-based eateries to bolster funding for its innovative Gifted Savings program. This initiative, which provides graduating seniors with $1,000 investment portfolios alongside financial education, has set a precedent as the first of its kind in the nation to be implemented district-wide.

To further this cause, several local establishments are participating in “Dining for Dividends Day” on Thursday, April 30th. On this day, a portion of their sales will be donated to the Gifted Savings program. Notable participants include The Globe, Preacher Green’s, and Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe.

For those who cannot attend these dining events but still wish to contribute, donations can be made online via the CCSD Gifted Saving fund through the Athens Area Community Foundation.
