Honoring a Legacy: North Carolina A&T State University Dedicates Day of Service to Jesse Jackson
In a heartfelt tribute to a revered civil rights leader, North Carolina A&T State University is organizing a day of service to commemorate Reverend Jesse Jackson. This event underscores the profound impact he had both during and beyond his lifetime.
The university community, known as Aggie Nation, will come together on Thursday to engage in meaningful service activities. This initiative serves to honor Jackson, an esteemed alumnus who passed away in February. His groundbreaking presidential campaigns during the 1980s are often credited with setting the stage for the election of America’s first Black president.
Students, faculty, and staff at A&T are set to participate in various community service projects. These efforts include supporting the Aggie Source Food Pantry and crafting greeting cards for the United Way of Greater Greensboro’s Family Success Center.
