In a bid to reignite conversations on free speech, Vice President JD Vance and Erika Kirk, the CEO and chair of Turning Point USA, are set to make a significant appearance in Athens next month.
Turning Point USA, a conservative group initiated by Erika Kirk’s late husband, Charlie Kirk, recently announced a new tour targeting five college towns. Athens is scheduled as the second stop on this “This is the Turning Point Tour,” taking place on April 14th.
The tour’s website suggests that additional stops will be announced in the near future.
The event’s description emphasizes the importance of continuing Charlie’s legacy: “each stop is a chance to honor Charlie’s mission and keep the fight alive. We know he wouldn’t want us to surrender or be coerced into silence. Free speech is only free if we use our voices.”
Charlie Kirk, a noted conservative activist, tragically lost his life last September during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. His last visit to Athens was in October 2024 as part of his “You’re Being Brainwashed Tour.”
Each location on the tour will feature a unique lineup of speakers. Among the prominent figures set to appear are Donald Trump Jr., Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and Border Czar Tom Homan.
The Athens event is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to register online for free tickets, which will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. For further details and registration, visit theturningpointtour.com.
