Athens Director’s Award-Winning Film Returns for Local Screenings
Aaron Strand, a filmmaker hailing from Athens, has garnered attention with his film Withdrawal, which clinched the Best Narrative Feature award at the Athens Film Festival last year. Following its success, the movie has been showcased at various festivals nationwide.
In an interview with Maya Iyer from WUGA, Strand shared insights into his work, which was brought to life in the Classic City. The project received crucial backing from the nonprofit organization Nuci’s Space.
Film enthusiasts in Athens have a chance to catch screenings at Cine, located downtown, until February 12th. These events will also offer interactive Q&A sessions with notable local personalities such as artist Montu Miller and Athens-Clarke County Mayor Kelly Girtz.
