With a major boost from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), communities across Northeast and Northcentral Pennsylvania are set to see significant improvements in parks and outdoor spaces. The region will receive approximately $10 million as part of a broader $82 million state initiative aimed at enhancing recreational infrastructure and conserving natural areas.
The extensive funding, announced on Monday, will support over 295 recreation and conservation projects statewide. “The outdoors are for everyone,” stated Gov. Josh Shapiro, emphasizing the importance of accessible outdoor spaces for all Pennsylvanians.
